Senior sessions are probably one of my favorite things that I photograph. Seniors have tons of personality and are pretty much willing to go for anything. They usually bring their entire closets to the sessions and we laugh, dance, and sometimes play really cool music!!
Rachi is a 2010 senior at Chandler High School. I have photographed her Brother and Sister’s senior pictures and one of her sisters weddings. They are ALL beautiful people inside and out!
We had so much fun during this session and got some killer images!!
Enjoy!!
Rachi’s niece is very important to her so we had her join us for a few of the pictures.
LOVE THIS!
Isn’t she gorgeous? I LOVED her dress.
Rachi is super involved in a lot of things and she brought along some of her favorite shirts to show off all that she’s involved in. A Great idea!

Super Cute!
Then she pulled out the cutest dress of all!
Rachi! You are fabulous!!! Congratulations girl!!!

How cute is Heidi Bartlett?Ā She is the creator and name behind idieh design and we just LOVE her and her work.Ā Check out her amazing responses to our vendor questionnaire and definitely think of her the next time you need truly creative, custom, and beautiful invitations, logos, stationery–really anything printed that you want to be gorgeous and special.Ā She is a talented gal, let’s get to know her!
Vendor Questionnaire!
- How did you come up with your company name? Pronounced (ahy-dee-uh), it is my name backwards.
- If you were stuck on an island for a year, how would you respond? I would probably sit down and immediately begin to analyze the situation and worry about how in the hell I was going to get off that island (after I took a few weeks, okay, maybe months to just relax and enjoy being āstuck.ā)Ā I like to ātryā to plan my life.Ā Slowly but surely, I learn that this is impossible, but always hard to resist.
- What is your signature dance move? First of all, let me just say if this girl has the chance to dance, life is good.Ā Itās not so much a signature move, but when I dance, Iām known to escape to my own world and be totally oblivious to my surroundings.
- If your life became a biography, what would the title be? An order of Craziness with a side of Indecisiveness
- If you were in a band, what would you play and what would your music style be? Iāve been known to love the tambourine. Weird, I know.Ā I just love how you can dance while playing. Style-wise, definitely R&B / Hip-Hop. (A tambourine makes perfect sense with the style, right?!?!)
- If you were a TV show character, who would you be? Easy one.Ā One of the attendees at Seattle Grace Hospital (Greyās Anatomy). But I wouldnāt want to replace anyone.Ā I would want to be an additional character, preferably playing myself. I already think Izzy, Meredith, Cristina, and the whole gang are my friends (donāt ruin my fantasy).Ā And McSteamy doesnāt know it yet, but heās definitely on my radar, if you know what I mean.
- What are your favorite kind of sneakers, and why? Not a big fan of sneakers (little fact: where I come from, we call them tennis shoes).Ā Can I choose flats instead?Ā Sneakers always make me feel not so fashionable ā at least flats are cute, yet still comfy.
- What is your ring tone/caller tune, and what does it say about you? Iāll have to say itās a generic ring tone right now.Ā Just havenāt taken time to download anything.Ā But, sometime ago I used to have āIām Bossyā by Kelis.Ā Why, I have no idea.Ā It was sassy and fun (Iām not even close to being bossy, though).
- In Vegas, youāre most likely to be the oneā¦..? Dancing or at a fabulous show ā but I wouldnāt know because Iāve NEVER been to Vegas.Ā I know, absurd, right?!?Ā Especially when I live so close to it now.
- If you were to win the lottery, what would your charity of choice be and why? American Heart Association.Ā My Dad passed away of heart disease WAY too early at the age of 44. Unfortunately, this disease runs in our family.
- At Barnes and Noble, what section are we most likely to find you? Design
- If you were a song lyric, which song lyric would you be? Just a small town girl, livinā in a lonely worldā¦
- At the end of the day the most important thing in life is ___________. Family & Friends
- Is your zodiac sign correct about you? Unfortunately, yes.Ā What is it and why? Virgo ā Why it is good: analytical, practical, reliable, modest.Ā On the flip side, it has its downfalls: worrier, perfectionist, and sometimes harsh
- Your favorite song in high school wasā¦? There were so many.Ā But the song that comes to mind is āBig Pimpināā by Jay-Z.Ā I remember this song being super popular when I got back to the States after living in Valencia, Spain for 7 weeks. We be Big Pimpinā spendinā cheeseā¦
How can you not love someone who lists Big Pimpin as their favorite song in high school?Ā So, there she is, Heidi Bartlett of idieh design.Ā We adore her and her work and know you will too!

What can you even say about your mom????Ā As you get older, the way you think of your mom changes more and more, as you really get to see all she’s done for you in your lifetime, and how everything you are, is a reflection of what she did.Ā My mom should have a cape on her back at all times with a superhero logo, as she raised the 4 of us and let me tell you guys, it was not easy, it’s still not easy, and it’s probably never going to get easier for her.Ā While we all have our great moments, we also have done some serious wreckage and my mom, BrendaP, has been there every single step of the way to pick us up, pat us on the back, hug us, and remind us to do better next time.
My mom was born the oldest of 5 children and whether she wanted to or not, she’s always been responsible for someone, be it her own children, her siblings growing up, or various neighborhood vagabond kids we’d bring in when their homes weren’t so happy to be a part of at that moment.Ā All our friends flock to my parent’s house, to this day-even as adults, because my mom is just that mom.Ā She always cares about you, there are always snacks, and she’s made it such a wonderful place to be that no one ever gets far.Ā My mom devoted her life to raising my brother, two sisters, and I, foregoing her own dreams/plans/aspirations/desires so many times to be there, all the time, for us.
I took for granted growing up that my mom was home when I needed her, ready to drop anything to come get me if I needed it, to give those car rides to birthday parties, to take me to dance class and cheer practice, to pick me up if I was sick.Ā I don’t think I understood that kind of sacrifice until I was an adult, and I’m sure I still haven’t grasped that selflessness and unconditional love to it’s full extent, and might not until I have children of my own, but my goodness, what an amazing woman!Ā She’s funny as all get out, devoted to her family, and one of the smartest people I know.Ā Did I mention she’s also drop-dead, stunner gorgeous?Ā Yeah….BrendaP, I love you, I admire you, and you’re the best model of a woman I can think to become.Ā Happy Mother’s Day from your wild, sometimes selfish, always goofy, troublesome, crazy, affectionate, silly girl.Ā LOOOOOOOVE YOU!!!
Brenda P.Ā My Mama š
JoyceK. ~ My Mama!
My turn, my turn… please please let me have a turn!!! This is my 2nd mothers day coming up and in these last 2 years of being a mom my respect and gratitude for my mom just continues to grow every day. Every day that I look at my daughter and realize that I don’t know how I could ever love her any more than I do and how my much I would give and sacrifice for that sweet child, I realize that my mom probably felt (and still feels) the same way. How is it that as we grow older we forget the love that our parents have for us. There were way to many times in my life that I told my mother hateful things and gave her dirty looks. I hated that she was so strict and would always tell me that she know best, yet now as I am older I am so grateful for all of those things and i’m so thankful that she raised me the way she did.
My mother is a wise wise woman and has always been there for me in thick and thin. I can’t imagine life without her and I am so thankful that she is in my life. I still call her for advice and cry to her when I need to cry. I ask her advice on being a mother and what she would have done when I was almost 2 and threw tantrums; She always laughs and tells me my daughter gets it naturally!
Mother, I don’t tell you enough how much I love you, but I wanted to make sure that you knew that on this mothers day. You truly are very special to me and I thank God every day that I have you!
Itās the dawn of Motherās Day and Iām holding my eyelids open after a late-night wedding to squeeze in a big huge āI love you Momā along with my girls. Iāll be brief, but my gratitude and reverence is anything but. My mamas (Mom, Grandma Honey, and Mama Bee) are my inspiration, cheerleaders, and shoulders to cry on and I canāt imagine how I would manage without their influence in my life. Thank youĀ for loving me with all of your hearts.Ā I love you back with all of mine! xoxo

Ā
Want to know what makes a woman look older than she is?Ā Stress, sun damage, lack of sleep, and her hair.Ā Now, in terms of stress, weāre all just in the same sinking ship here and if I had some magic cure Iād be raking in the millions.Ā Sun damage is easy, I just lectured you all on sunscreen so I expect you to to be carrying your little tubes of youth in your purses now.Ā Lack of sleep is pretty much a worldwide phenomena and all I can say to this is that I bought a sleep machine that plays thunder all night that honestly knocks me out so fast that now when a real storm hits, I get sleepy, very Pavlovian.Ā So all we can control here is the hair, and Iām here with my cape on to help my best girls!
Hair is a tricky thing and you have to think of it as the frame of your face (that and eyebrows.Ā Eyebrows are crucial, but another post entirely)Ā and without a good frame, the picture is all wrong.Ā Imagine a beautiful classic shot of Audrey Hepburn, a gorgeous black-and-white classic shot, in a banged up, gold chipped paint frame with plastic jewels in it and visible price tage.Ā Ew.Ā Letās fix this hair my sweethearts.Ā Here are the ways to your best hair:
1.Ā Crucial Color Codes
Ok, how many of you color your hair?Ā Ahhh I see all your hands up, as I suspected.Ā Coloring your hair seems easy to most people, as you go to your stylist and say something like this, āHi, just do the same as last time.āĀ Hereās the trouble:Ā last time might have been all wrong, or your ālast timeā started 10 years ago and you havenāt realized a decade of change has happened around you.Ā Look in the mirror at your hair.Ā What your goal should be is to have hair that looks naturally beautiful.Ā This means you take your normal, God-given hue, and punch it up a few notches.Ā A few.Ā Not 65 steps on the color scale.Ā The reasoning?Ā Your hair and skin were made in a lab more perfect than any salon, so straying too far from these natural pigments is going to make your skin look washed out/sallow/pink/etc. It’s also going to be impossible to maintain if it’s too different.Ā Your base hair color needs to be within the same color family as your natural shade.Ā My natural shade is red thereforeĀ Iām never going to go platinum, sadly, so I have to leave that life to others.Ā Cāest la vie, friends.Ā There is beauty in every single shade, cherish yours!
The Blondies –Lovely at every shade
The Redheads- Fiery and HOT
The Brunettes- Always sexy and shiny
2.Ā Highlighting with Intent
Highlights are amazing, they can camouflage grays and brighten up your whole ādo, but when done incorrectly they can make you look so outdated evenĀ skinny jeansĀ canāt bring you into this year.Ā Letās look at the goal of highlights in general:Ā to highlight an area by drawing the eye to the light.Ā The goal is not to paint stripes into your hair, show eight weeks of re-growth, nor to fry your tips into crispy little tufts around your head.Ā You want to think of your highlights like sprinkles; a little bit makes the cake pretty, a lot makes the cake a mess.Ā Your highlights also need to stay within your base color family.Ā If you have gorgeous black tresses, please do not add in white-blonde highlights.Ā Think of it this way, the eye jumps to the lightest color naturally, but this should be a subtliminal jump.Ā You want to be, āLook at her gorgeous hair!ā not āLook at her highlights.ā
Look closely, these are some amazing highlight jobs.Ā Not seeing the highlights, seeing the pretty hair, at every shade!
3.Ā Cut with Care
A perfect color and highlight job means nothing if your haircut is the issue.Ā Cut is SO touchy for us girls and I understand!Ā I have had long hair my entire life and every time I go to my stylist I ask her the same question, āIs it time?Ā Is it unhealthy?Ā Do I have to cut it?āĀ Itās hard to wait for the answer, but I know the one thing I donāt want to be:Ā the girl with the inappropriate, gross hair.Ā Hair length is dependent on so many factors and comfort levels that Iām not going to dissect the perfect cut for each person, letās just get into some basic guidelines to determine if you need a new style:
- Do you ever like your hair? When you get up, blowdry, style, flat iron, curl, etc—do you ever like the result?Ā Are you constantly yanking it back into a ponytail?Ā Have you suddenly purhcased a lot of hats?Ā Do you look in the mirror and just not know what to do with it?Ā If you hate your hair, we need to address the cut.
- Ā Is it healthy? Do you have split ends?Ā Do you have excessive flyaways?Ā Are your ends a different color than your roots?Ā Is your hair soft to touch?Ā I know you want it long, but if itās unhealthy you just need to cut it.Ā Long and fried is never cute.Ā Ever.
- Ā Have you changed your cut, in any way, in a decade? Dude, this is hard.Ā I KNOW.Ā I have added longer bangs, changed up my layers, and done enough tweeks to make myself feel better about this question but seriously, have you had the same hair since high school?Ā You gotta change it up.Ā You just have to!Ā You need your stylist to update you and force you, kicking and screaming into 2010.Ā Iām sorry, I know that you felt so hot at 17 with that hair, but sweetie, youāre not 17 anymore.Ā Time to move up with the big girls.
- Is your stylist the one for you? Do you leave his/her chair happy?Ā Would you recommend them to a friend?Ā Do they listen to you?Ā Do you feel like youāre in good hands?Ā Do they ever suggest anything new for you?Ā Do you get complimented after seeing them?
I know itās hard to think about changing your hair, feeling like you just donāt know what to do with your hair, and wondering how that girl in your office just magically wakes up like that each day (she doesnāt,Ā she spent 4 hours on it and is wearing extensions).Ā The way to fix this is to seriously speak with a professional hair stylist at a respected salon.Ā Find a friend with great hair and ask her who she sees, then go see them.Ā Tell them your frustrations and let them do their job, they wouldn’t have it if they knew nothing!
And ladies, don’t be afraid to invest in yourself.Ā Yes, it might cost a little more than you can see yourself spending, but once you get ONE great cut and ONE great color that really suits you, the maintenance on it can be done somewhere less expensive.Ā And you know what?Ā Eat out a couple less times that month and like your hair—isnāt that a pretty good trade?
I can see you all now, sashaying down the street shaking out your sexy hair!Ā Itās going to be great, youāll see.Ā Somehow itāll make your jeans fit better too, I canāt explain it, Iām no scientist, but I swear it happens that way.

Fly:
verb:Ā to move through the air, usually by use of wings
adjective:Ā cool, in style, hip, trendy
Wanna know how lucky KB and I, your little JennyP,Ā were last weekend?Ā I’ve started writing as a contributing editor for HauteLiving.com and I’m allowed to pick luxury topics at my discretion.Ā So, since I’ve found rather quickly that places hand out perks to press, I’ve been circulating the day spa realm for a bit, getting pampered and primped, and then decided to look into private planes (I mean, if you’re gonna get perks, let’s just keep it gangsta folks).Ā I contacted SunCountry Flight Services and the owner, Jeff Baber, invited me and “my photographer” (KB only, sadly KJ had a family function she couldn’t miss but we missed her!) to join him for an afternoon of flying.Ā Sounds pretty cool, right?
OH MY GOODNESS!Ā This turned into a photo shoot with me in 70’s rocker garb, private jets, a flight out of town for lunch, and flying lessons where I flew us to Payson and KB flew us back.Ā WHAT??!!!!Ā This day was pretty much a bucket list topper!Ā Who on earth gets to fly a jet out of the blue for free one day????Ā Like Kanye says, welcome to the good life where you pop champagne on a plane.Ā My goodness this was a remarkable moment in my life!Ā If you can’t tell in these phenomenal pictures, I’m giddy with ecstatic emotions!Ā Counting my blessings left and right.Ā I’ll let KB tell you her side, I’m still dizzy with excitement!Ā Here’s the link toĀ the article I did up for them, PrivatePlanesHauteLiving, although I think they got the raw end of this deal…I mean, they got an article while I flew a jet.Ā I flew a jet.Ā Insanity…onto KB.
Hey, hi! kb here! Iām with Jenny⦠this fancy little rendezvous was an adrenaline rush Iāll probably not stop talking about anytime soon. As always, Iām up to my eyeballs with school fieldtrips, shooting/editing sessions, and piles of laundry⦠Oh, and last week I FLEW A PLANE. Life as usual =)! Jeff, our trusty guide and pilot/owner told us to not think about it too much⦠keeping the wings level and flying straight is something your brain can naturally balance (unspoken: if you donāt freak out). And it seemed to work. The less I stressed about what my hand needed to be doing on the control to avoid crashing us to smithereens, the smoother we flew. Iām sure thereās a “keep-it-simple and your eye on the horizon”Ā life lesson in there somewhere. Aside from every small gust of turbulence or wing dip āwoopsieā causing me to nearly bust out in maniacal giggles, flying straight and not crashing into the mountains did come totally natural! Iām glad we made it home safely and have some fun pictures to show for it. Our JennyP can not only write, organize a studio like itās nobodyās business, and keep us looking good on the fashion front, sheās also a full on hottie patottie. She makes high-noon/bad lighting look GOODā¦
