Amber + Aaron Part II | Scottsdale Wedding Photographer

There were so many great pictures that we got at Amber and Aaron’s wedding that we actually had to spit it into a 2 part post. So this, my dear friends, is part 2 of Amber + Aaron.

One of my favorite things about the Hotel Valley Ho is the ceremony site. They create a circle, which is so unique and different. People aren’t sure where to sit and I think that is the point. It’s a gathering of everyone closest to you for your wedding day, all together, to share in the celebration. I think it is more intimate and visually it’s stunning.

Aaron and Amber did not see each other before the wedding, so this was their first chance to see each other. I LOVE Aaron’s reaction and just look at Amber glowing. Her dad looks so proud of her.

Aaron’s father is the pastor at Scottsdale Bible Church and he preformed the ceremony. It was touching and amazing.

What a gorgeous scene!

This was their first moments together as husband and wife when they realized what just happened. I LOVE the intimacy!

I couldn’t resist showing off a little ring bearers belly! So cute!!

I love this location!

They look amazing don’t you think?

The mother of the groom has a picture of all of her sons with their new bride leaning on the grooms shoulder. She wanted to make sure that I got one similar for her to hang with the others. I love taking images like this so of course I was willing to oblige!!

Now onto Decor. Ummmm has anyone ever seen the Hotel Valley Ho Reception room look this amazing? It was completely draped and fabulous.

The Cake was phenomenal thanks to Julia Baker Confections, The Flowers were breathtaking thanks to the girls at the  Camelback Flowershop.
Lighting was provided by  AV Concepts, Draping was provided by  Quest Drape, Linens by Cloth Connection. and menu’s were designed by Idieh design.

Of course the whole plan came together because of the girls at Outstanding Occasions.

This is one of my new favorite first dances!!

And I really couldn’t choose between these first dance images with Amber and her Father. They were so moving and emotional.

What a wonderful wedding. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day. I truly enjoyed every moment!!

Amber + Aaron Part I | Scottsdale Wedding Photographer

What happens when the beautiful daughter of the owner of the Hotel Valley Ho and the talented handsome son of the pastor of Scottsdale Bible Church decide to get married on a beautiful March day? Well, when you add in the fact that they used some of the most amazing vendors in the state of Arizona, you get a wedding that blows your socks off and some amazingly beautiful and gorgeous pictures!!!

On Saturday I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Aaron and Amber, two of the nicest and genuine people I’ve ever met. The day couldn’t have gone any better as it was  coordinated by the wonderful girls at Outstanding Occasions. The Hotel Valley Ho is one of my favorite places and has so many great photography locations. The Outstanding Occasions girls decorated the place amazingly including draperies, flowers by the girls at Camelback Flowershops, and amazing lighting. It was a true production.

Photography was no different. I wanted to make sure that we caught everything so we had a team of 4 girls at the wedding! I loved it and I LOVE my team. They caught everything and did such a great job. I couldn’t be happier with the results that we got.

I started the day hanging out with the girls in one of the Pent Houses of the Hotel. I could have shot in there all day and actually did shoot all of the bridals and girls pictures in the room. Pure Eye Candy and a photographers dream.

AMAZING RING!!

Amber’s dress was PERFECT. From what I overheard, she actually had another dress and the seamstress messed it up, so she had to get another one, and the new dress was THE ONE. It was so much better than the previous and truly looked AMAZING on Amber.

The beautiful flowers by Camelback Flowershop.

I love this shot that K.Bee got of one of Amber’s sisters.

Stunning dress right?

I love this shot of Amber’s mom laughing. It was good times all around!

Amazing shot that K.Bee got of the flowers.

Final touches.

A few Bridals… well ok, a lot of Bridals. I’m telling you this place was a dream to photograph and Amber was even more of a dream to photograph. She’s stunning!

Breathtaking!!

A FAV of the day! In Love with this shot.

We then took some of the girls. 3 of the 4 girls are all Amber’s sisters. They actually could all have passed as sisters and were all amazingly beautiful.

We then headed off to the guys.

Aaron is a musician so it was fun to take some musician like pictures of the groomsmen. Think Band Cover!!

A little Off Camera Lighting.

Another new FAV!!

Love this pic of Aaron.

We took a lot of images and I have a ton of favorites, so look back for Part II of this post tomorrow. It will include Ceremony, Bride and Groom, and Reception images!!

The Mecca Has Come to Arizona–FINALLY! {Fashion Frenzy Friday’s with JennyP}

Could anything be better than going to sleep at night, all snug and safe in your bed, knowing that just down the road in Scottsdale a brand new H&M has opened up just for you and your shopping bliss, FINALLY??!!

Let’s just rewind for a moment to a time in late 2004, when your little Jenny-blogger was an even littler Jenny-blogger on her first trip to the amazing state of New York to visit her (then) fashion student cousin.  On this pivotal trip we headed to the Midtown shopping district and there it was, like a man I was about to become soulmates with, H&M New York.  Love is love, and when you know, you know.  Three stories, that big red sign, and gaggles of girls better dressed than I emerging with that “I just bought the perfect outfit” glow upon them.  I entered with trepidation, knowing full well that my measly shopping fund would probably only allow me a scarf in such a mecca, when I noticed a price tag.  $29.95?

“Are they selling the coat hangers separately?” was my first thought.  To my utter disbelief and unbridled joy, that was NOT a hanger price tag—it was a tag to an item!  An entire article of clothing with perfect stitching and as trendy as Kate Moss herself, and it was $29.95!  Thus ensued a shopping excursion people only pass down to their children through oral tradition, much like Greek mythology, on cold winter nights as times past.  I left NY feeling so excited about this shop!  The cutest clothing ever, the best prices, and just an internet click away from my closet!

But, as you all know, H&M didn’t have an online store.  I kept looking and looking, but their website did not allow shopping!  It only listed locations and the nearest ones were either Los Angeles or Las Vegas!  I truly felt this must be an error so I called, and sure enough, they did not sell their clothing on the internet!  To have those dresses listed in Cosmo, or even a pair of jeans tagged in some celeb paparazzi photo, I needed to get in my car and actually leave the state!  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like it wouldn’t be worth the trip, but come on that’s seriously inconvenient!

Well, my friends, our time has come.  Last month H&M opened their doors in Scottsdale and I was in that loooooooooooong line of girls with the same eager gleam in their eyes when those fateful doors opened.  Although it was more crowded than New Orleans at Mardi Gras, it was all I had hoped for.  Adorable pea coats for under $100?  Check.  Stacks of patterned tights?  Check.  A feeling that my prayers had finally been heard?  Double check.  It’s there, just waiting for you to come and enjoy the luster and affordability Arizona.  We should count ourselves as the blessedly elite today.

Google Voice – Invitation

A few weeks ago I got an invitation to use Google Voice. It’s new and looks exciting, so I signed up and added my IPhone. At first it was pretty cool, it takes over your phones voice mail and directs your phone to Google voice mail. There are some neat things with it because it will send you a text message of the voice mail so that you can quickly read what was said in the voice mail, and then it emails you as well. You can click on the link to hear the voice mail if you don’t want to read the text.

At first it was working great and I kinda really liked it; however, after using it for awhile it’s starting to drive me nuts. Here are a few reasons why:

1) The voice mail no longer shows up on my phone so I can’t listen to it right away. I actually have to connect to the internet in order to go listen to it, so if my signal on my phone is bad or slow it takes forever.

While in Las Vegas the last few days no one could get their phones to work properly. Emails and texts were coming hours after they were sent and connecting to the internet was horrible, so in order to actually listen to a message it took at times 30-45 minutes to connect and be able to listen.

2) The “text” version of the message are hilarious to say the least. They don’t make sense AT ALL, but do make for comic relief.

While in Vegas I received so many very interesting voice mails. I had to share a few of them because they are way too funny to pass by.

– “Thanks. Hey Kim, my phone and I have. My flight’s not. I wanna rent and all and water hospital charge, so if you wanna come whenever we.”

– “Hey Kim, It’s Rebecca, I have my glasses, And I was wondering if you were still meeting up for dinner. I just think 35. If the tapes trying to wonder that class. But anyway, give me a call back. Bye.”

– “Hey girl. It’s me, just calling to see where your ass. It’s a big meeting. I’m getting 100. I have felt. I’m hoping to get this. Gimme a call. Bye”

Since I knew that my friends were not drunk it was hillarious; however, it did not help me in any way to know what they were really saying, and since I couldn’t check the voice mail because of shotty service, Google voice let me down this week. Because of that I will be taking my cell phone off of Google voice until the text versions are fixed to where they actually make sense.

I think that Google has a great idea here and it’s not a bad thing to jump on if it sounds fun and exciting to you, but be forewarned there are many quirks that need to be fixed before it it fully functional.

Ashley + Zach Part 1 | Phoenix Wedding Photography

A few weeks ago I posted pictures from Ashley and Zach’s engagement session. Ashley and Zach are an amazing couple and I have had such a great time getting to know them. Yesterday Ashley and Zack were married at the beautiful Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for quite some time now as, Zach and Ashley are truly a wonderful couple, but also because I got to work with Emily from Your Hearts Desire Wedding Coordinating again; she is amazing.

The day yesterday was beautiful. There was a 10% chance of rain and thankfully it stayed away. The weather actually brought wonderful cloud cover and some cool breezes. It was PERFECT.

Ashley started getting ready at the Biltmore and then headed to the Wrigley Mansion for the final touches of her makeup and getting ready. My team of 4 (yes we had 4 there – Wrigley Mansion is a huge place) met her and the girls at the Wrigley Mansion. We got some great images of the girls getting ready! Ashley is BEAUTIFUL.

Zach, is an amazing football player for the Oakland Raiders, so it was a fun wedding because a lot of his team mates showed up. I had no clue who some of them were, but anytime I saw a big guy walking around I figured that there was a good chance he was one of the players…. there were a lot of big guys walking around!! The crowd made for a ton of fun during the reception!

For now, this is part 1 of their pictures. I haven’t had a chance yet to go through the reception pictures, so those will come at a later date. We got so many beforehand though, that this will be one of my longest posts because I HAVE to share these amazing pictures with  you all.

A Huge thanks to the amazing vendors who worked on this wedding.
