Meet Kimberly Bee {kb} | Associate Photographer

KimberlyBeeFamily0668{blog) A couple of years ago I got the craziest email from a girl named Kimberly Bee. She told me that she loved my work and wanted to 2nd shoot for me. Some of you might ask why this is a strange thing? Well, it’s because when I went to her website and looked at her work she wasn’t the normal person who emails me to 2nd shoot. She was really good. I emailed her confused and asked her why she wanted to 2nd shoot with me. I’m not sure what she said, but it convinced me to have her come out and shoot and thus began an amazing friendship. We hit it off! I asked her to shoot a few more and then an amazing thing happened… she came on as a permanent 2nd shooter for me. Every wedding it was a duo Kim team. I liked it. It was fun and great having a dedicated team to shoot with.

About a year ago Kim started asking me if I would ever be interested in having an associate photographer. The thought of an associate photographer actually scared me, but it was something i had been thinking about so I told her I would get back to her. After a few months she asked again and again and again. I LOVE persistence!! I finally said yes… let’s do this thing. Let’s figure out how to make it work and have you come on board.

Some of you might want to know why Kim would leave her successful business and come work for me. Well it actually makes perfect sense when you talk to her. She is a PHOTOGRAPHER and not a business person. She is a mom and just couldn’t keep up with the work that having your own business brought on. I am pretty good at business and already have everything put into place, so it only made sense that she would come work under us as a photographer and not really have to deal with the business side. I give her huge props on her decision.

It’s been crazy trying to figure out how to make this work because Kim, like I said before, is an amazing photographer and has a following of fans a mile long. It’s been hard figuring out how to make the transition of the Kimberly Bee brand to the Kimberly Jarman brand, but I think we have it!!

I am so excited to announce that it is officially here. Kimberly Bee is officially an associate photographer for Kimberly Jarman Photography. You will be seeing a lot of her around this place because she will be joining us as a guest blogger as well as showing us her gorgeous images.

As an associate photographer, she will be shooting her normal amazing portraits, families, kids, babies, maternity. And she will also be shooting weddings for us! Her prices for weddings are discounted from mine, so it is a great opportunity for those on a budget to get the Kimberly Jarman experience with a great photographer.

We are really excited to have Kimberly Bee join us.

On a side note, to help with the confusion of having 2 Kimberly’s we have decided that Kimberly Bee will now be referred to as K.Bee

Laurie + Dave | Phoenix Engagement Photographer

I get so many clients who walk into my studio and tell me they are really nervous about getting pictures done and that they aren’t photographic. Laurie (I hope she doesn’t kill me) was one of those brides. I assured her that she was GORGEOUS and her pictures would be amazing. Last week, after a few reschedules because of weather (who knew it would rain every Wednesday for a month), we were able to do Laurie and Dave’s engagement pictures. We had so much fun and through the viewfinder I knew that they were doing a great job interacting with each other and looking very cute. When I got home and started to go through the pictures, my draw dropped. Laurie is GORGEOUS and is extremely photographic and Dave did pretty dang good himself. These are seriously some of my favorite engagement pictures and I adore them!

People often wonder why I do an engagement session. The reason is two fold. It’s done so that I can get to know you as a couple, how you interact together, your chemistry, how you photograph. It’s also done so that my couples can get used to having a camera in their face and also see my style of photography. I always warn my couples that the first 5-10 minutes will be awkward, who isn’t a little shy in front of a camera? However, once we get rolling and moving it gets a lot more fun and my couples always tell me they had a really good time. It’s two fold.. it helps me get used to my couples and helps my couples get used to me. I think it’s really important to ensure that your wedding day pictures are great!

In the case of Laurie and Dave, I think and hope that Laurie will see how BEAUTIFUL she is and if she looks this good for her engagement pictures she’s going to be smokin hot for her wedding! Gosh I love my job!!

That being said, please enjoy the amazing images from Laurie and Dave’s engagement session!

I also love for my couples to bring a part of themselves into the pictures. Laurie is a Phoenix Suns Season Ticket Holder and Dave is a Cardinals Season Ticket Holder, so of course they had to come decked out in their favorite teams clothing and gear! I LOVE and adore these pictures.

Laurie also bought a cute little red dress for the shoot. I think it is great to bring a few different changes because it really allows us to get a lot of different looks. I thought these were great!

I’m so excited for Dave and Laurie’s wedding at the Phoenix Art Museum. The amazing Aleasha Shelton with A Day To Cherish weddings will be coordinating the entire thing and because of that it’s going to be even more phenomenal!!

Ashley + Zach | Phoenix Engagement Photographer

In less than a month Ashley and Zach are getting married at the Wrigley Mansion. It is sure to be a very cool wedding especially considering the wonderful and amazing Emily Edwards, with Your Hearts Desire Wedding consulting, is planning the entire thing.

Zach and Ashley met in Arizona,  love frozen yogurt, and are totally best friends in LOVE! It was so fun getting to know both of them and I have been really excited for this engagement session. Zach is a pro football player with the Oakland Raiders so they flew in from California just for the session and we had a wonderful time and found some really neat places to take the pictures. I loved it because Zach is so big and Ashley is so tiny. I loved watching them interact and be cute! I think they are so perfect for each other!

Thanks you guys for letting me hang out! It was a lot of fun and I LOVE the pictures! So excited for your day!

Kiko + Joshua | Scottsdale Engagement Photographer

Engagement Month! This has been a crazy week and probably month of engagement sessions! February is just the best weather to get portraits done.

I’m very excited for Kiko and Joshua’s wedding. I met them over a year ago and in April the wedding day will finally be here!!

Kiko and Joshua wanted to bring their cute little doggy along for the pictures and he cooperated very well, especially when I said “dog park” or “daycare”. We had a great time and got some really cute pictures!

I’m so excited for the big day!
