To start our newborn series out we thought we’d share some of our favorite images from one of our newest newborn sessions with little Mr. Grayson. We’ve been having such a wonderful time with our newborns and this little guy was a total trooper and did so well during his debut session. Grayson’s big brother came along for some of the shoot as well and we were able to get some great pictures of him!
We photographed Grayson in our home studio, which is set up perfectly for newborns!! It gives us the best opportunity to have everything perfectly ready for the baby and our lighting in our home studio is perfect for sessions. Most of our newborn sessions are photographed in our home studio.
The family is also avid Seattle Seahawk fans, so I think the fact that Grayson got some pictures with his Seahawks helmet might have been one of the reasons they won the superb own this year! Way to go Grayson!!! Congrats to this amazing family and the win for Seattle!!!

Baby love and the amazing world of newborn photography. Lately we’ve been hit with baby fever. I guess it could be due to the fact that 2 of our girls (me being one of them) are going to have newborns pretty soon, or the fact that we’ve done so many great newborn sessions lately that we have the itch to do more, but either way we are really enjoying all these newborns coming in to get photographed and we thought we take some time this month and talk about newborn photography!
My associate Elise, has gotten the baby itch most of all and is obsessed with newborn shoots. She has become our resident newborn photographer and is going to be our guest blogger for this series. I wanted to introduce her to all of you because she will also be added to our newborn photography team and will be accepting newborn sessions starting this month through our studio. Her work is amazing and I am so excited to be able to offer her as one of our photographers for newborns. While I will still be photographing newborns, Elise will be an added addition and option! As we go along through this series we will provide more information about how you can hire us for your newborn session and the steps to take to ensure that you get great pictures!
So many of our parents are 1st time parents and aren’t really sure what to expect when getting pictures taken of their brand new baby, I mean heck… when I was a first time parent I had no clue what to expect with having a child in general, much alone what to do for pictures, so we understand and are going to help walk you through that process.
Elise is going to give you some great tips, including What To Expect, The Do’s and Don’ts, What To Bring, Studio Sessions vs. a Session At Your House, and much more.

Jenn & Mark are truly a unique couple. From Jenn’s skull earrings to Mark’s hidden super hero t-shirt, this couple made sure that nothing was too ordinary about their big day! In 2008, Jenn & Mark met at a bbq at Mark’s cousins house who also happened to be a friend of Jenn’s as well. Five years later, with Mark’s cousin as his best man, he married his best friend in a fun and personalized ceremony. Instead of having their officiant give his usual speech at their ceremony, Mark and Jenn decided to write their own ceremony to read while they were pronounced husband and wife. Jenn and Mark are both into video games, comics, super heroes, zombies… and their ceremony included references to all of them – intertwined with sweet vows and heartfelt sentiments.
After the ceremony and some fun portrait time with the bridal party and Jenn and Mark, (Believe me, those groomsmen were a crack-up!) their guests sat down in the gorgeous Ballroom at Villa Siena. Mark and Jenn were married early in the morning, so their guests were all treated to a brunch, complete with omelets, bacon, orange juice, coffee – Yum! The rest of the afternoon was filled with sweet toasts (including a song written just for them!) lots of socializing, and a their very own volleyball-playing zombie cake (yes, you read that right!). To top it all off, the couple ended with a bubble send-off and drove away. The couple topped it all off with going to Hawaii for their honeymoon (jealous!!).
Thanks Jenn and Mark for putting on such a fantastic and fun day, we loved seeing it all come together!

Audrey and Nick were married at the Hotel Valley Ho, and were our first couple of 2014 to photograph! As if the retro feel of the AWESOME Hotel Valley Ho wasn’t enough of a statement for you, Audrey and Nick have some SERIOUS personal style that they incorporated into their big day! Everything was fun, light hearted, colorful, and one-of-a-kind! Audrey and Nick got ready at the gorgeous hotel itself, with their friends surrounding them everywhere they went! During the portrait time they kept on getting stopped by their guests that told them how stunning they looked! After taking advantage of the gorgeous photo locations at the Valley Ho, the ceremony was soon underway – did we mention it was on the roof at sunset? So romantic! The ceremony was officiated by both Nick and Audrey’s brothers who incorporated so much personal charm into their nuptials. After that, it was party time! Guests were ushered into ‘The Sands’ reception site, and greeted by a room filled with lots of candles, long, family style tables, and their unique chandelier that Audrey made herself! After some funny speeches, and a delicious meal by the fabulous catering staff at the Valley Ho, the party was started by their DJ and friend (who actually introduced them). Good times were had by all!
