Jade | High School Senior

Jade’s session is one of my favorite all time sessions for high school seniors. Jade is super sweet, quiet, and a little reserved, but when we started taking pictures she completely surprised me. She came out of her shell and I was so impressed.

I love love love these images. Jade, you are GORGEOUS!!

The Peregrin Family | Phoenix Portrait Photographer

We’ve been going through all of our pictures from the past few years and have realized that we haven’t been great at blogging families lately… so sad. I’ve had some AMAZING sessions over the last few years and you have NEVER seen them. So, we are pulling out the archives to show you some of our favorite families and sessions.

To start, I give you the Peregrin family. One of my favorite families i’ve had the honor to photograph. I LOVE these images and everytime I look at them i’m brought back to what a fun session we had in downtown phoenix!

The Applewhites | Phoenix Portrait Photographer

Some of you might know this family as The Sarah Sanmarco family… which they are that as well as the Applewhites. Sarah is one of my favorite makeup artists and we have been working together forever!!!! I love that I get to document her wonderful family and am so excited to show off these FUN pictures. You see this family is fun, quirky, and up for anything. They make me laugh so hard and will do anything I ask them to, so we always get fun and unique pictures. This session was no different and I LOVE them all!!

Thanks Sarah and family… this shoot made my day!!

There is no Favorite Friday today because I want to share more with you about High School Senior Photography and show you a little behind the scenes to my promo video.

Also, before I start, I have to give HUGE props to the people who helped pull this together.

Serendipity Videography – For the amazing work they did on my promo piece. They are amazing in every way.

Sarah Sanmarco – The Queen of makeup. She is my go to girl when it comes to makeup because she does miracles

Taryn with Wish Salon – Her hair styles and creativity are amazing. She is my for sure go to hair girl!

*PS Both Taryn and Sarah are my “Senior Portrait” stylists, so if you want hair and makeup added to your pictures, they are your girls

Tricia Kraft with Stella & Dot – she provided the jewelry that all of us girls wore for the shoot and it is one of a kind amazing. If you are at all interested in seeing her stuff check out her facebook page.

Diana Carver – for taking such great behind the scenes footage… this is all her handy work and i’m so thankful for these pictures… so thanks girl!!

All the Models who helped out; Eve, Lauren, Hannah, Colin, Scottie, and Logan you did amazing. You gelled together so well and I think made some great friends along the way!

And Lastly, to Elise, my go to girl in the studio who helped put this whole thing together. Thank you girl, you are amazing me with what you are doing and i’m so appreciative of you!

So, without further ado…. the behind the scenes pictures to the video.

We started at the studio and spent time prepping for the shoot. We all got hair and makeup done, styled our wardrobes, added finishing pieces with Stella & Dot Jewelry, and ate a little grub. 4 hours of prep and it was worth it!

Tricia, with Stella &  Dot, gave goody bags to all the models. Super fun and Cute!

We then headed out for the shoot, which included a lot of cameras (video and still). I was told to smile a lot… I guess when i’m shooting I concentrate really hard:)

While, I know I don’t pull it off like these kids do, I had to show them what I wanted.. they of course rocked it!

Jeff getting a little crazy action from me!!

Isn’t Serendipity just amazing?

A full day production and so worth it! I can’t wait to do our next one!! Until then keep passing on the senior site and video to all your friends! We want to photograph them!!!

Senior Model Shoot | Arizona High School Senior Photographer

Since it is High School Senior week at Kimberly Jarman Photography, because of the launch of our new High School Senior Site : www.kimberlyjarmanseniors.com, I thought I would share a little bit about the model shoot that we recently did.

We LOVE high school seniors and I really want to do more of senior photography, but it’s really hard to let high school seniors know that they don’t have to necessarily use the photographer that the school makes them go to for the yearbook as their senior photographer. They have options. Yes, most schools do require that they have to go get that one picture done, but you aren’t required to buy anything. Since most people don’t know about this, we have to somehow get the word out there! Thus comes our Casting Call Model Program.

What is the Casting Call?

We get a lot of questions on what the casting call is. Basically it’s geared toward high school juniors.  We ask juniors to come to us towards the end of their junior year. We enter them into our model program and they get a ton of discounts for their senior pictures and free stuff. We take pictures of them during the summer before their junior year and then again the spring of their senior year. The catch is that they have to promote us throughout their senior year to all of their friends. The more friends that have us do their senior pictures, the more free things they get!! It’s a win win for everyone involved!

Group Model Shoot

Part of the casting call model program is the combined model shoot. This usually takes place the summer before our models senior year and is the first session they will do with us. It’s here that we take pictures of them individually, which are the pictures they will show their friends to get them to also have us take their senior pictures, and also how we get our marketing materials for our website and promotional items.   We go somewhere fun and have a blast taking individual pictures as well as group pictures. It’s a total experience and will give our models a good idea of what it is like to have their pictures done with us.

Below are some of our pictures from our last group model shoot. We did these around the studio and had hair & makeup there for all the models, plus afterwards we ate pizza and looked at the pictures. It was a ton of fun.

These guys did such an amazing job and had a blast doing it. Ask any one of them and they will tell you that it was a great experience and they would do it again in a heart beat! They looked amazing too and rocked the camera!
