The JennyP Beauty Routine

Hellllllllo everyone!  I am about to skip the state and head to the FREEZING east coast for a week (yes, having a boyfriend that is a Navy SEAL is tiring when it comes to travel…having a boss that lets me make it work is pretty amazing),and while I was packing up I was thinking how happy I am that The BF went out recently and stocked HIS apartment with all the stuff I use on daily basis, to help me with packing spillable girlie stuff, and I just thought I’d share with you the products that JennyP uses every single day on her face!

I am a complete beauty product junkie, but I have uber-sensitive skin that reacts to everything, so I actually never stray from my routine.  Honestly, I have to call my lifelong BFF Cathy when I see a product I’m dying to use and ask her if I’m allowed, and she always says the same exact thing, no matter how much I beg and plead, “Jenny, no.  You will be covered in a rash.  Don’t read the back, don’t look at the pictures,  just put it on the shelf and walk away.”   (She’s always right, but it’s still annoying for someone to be right ALL the time!)

Anyway, here’s my product rundown as I pack my bags and head out to the wrong coast (Seriously, why live in snow when you can live in sun???)

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I love Cetaphil SO MUCH.  It is the only face wash I have ever found that doesn’t upset my crazy skin, takes off my makeup, and doesn’t strip my face using it twice a day.  I buy it by the gallon when possible.  Infallible in my eyes, I think there is nothing better.

Retin-A Micro .1%

This is one of my prescription products, and I’d sell my leg if I needed to, to get it. I put this on my skin at night after washing, and I obsessively worship Retin-A.  I started using it at age 18 for acne, and came to find out that by using it for so many years I’ve actually fended off wrinkles too! It increases collagen and stimulated skin cell turnover, and Retin-A Micro isn’t too harsh for my skin.  I really think I’d die without it.

Klaron (Sodium Sulfacetamide) Lotion, 10%

This is my other skin prescription, and I once went a few months without it and HATED my skin! I layer this on over my Retin-A (a combo usage I found on my own that I love, it seems more effective like this, than when I do one in the AM and one in the PM.)  I use this over my Retin-A Micro every night. It’s an antibacterial topical, that helps people who are prone to breakouts (like me!) with skin control.  I also just think my skin looks healthier in general when I’m using it.

Olay Sensitive Skin Beauty Fluid

This is the only moisturizer I have found that doesn’t make me break out or have an irritation reaction. It’s lightweight, and I use it twice a day. I have been tossing around the idea of trying an Aveeno moisturizer, since it’s the only sunscreen and eye cream that I don’t react to, but for now it’s still my tried and true Olay Sensitive.  (Not to be confused with Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin, that stuff makes my skin go nuts!)

Aveeno Positively Ageless Eye Cream

I just started using this at night, because I turned 30 and thought I better start using an eye cream!  I can’t say I’m seeing some huge facial difference, but Aveeno products are gentle enough for my skin, so I trust it.  We’ll see if it stays in the rotation…

Bare Minerals Original Mineral Foundation

I’m putting this on here, but not all my other makeup, because it has sunscreen and I believe in using sunscreen EVERY SINGLE DAY! I don’t want wrinkles, I want healthy cancer-free skin, so I make sure sunscreen is on my face every day!!!!

So there you have it, the JennyP facial regime used daily.

(Isn’t it funny knowing my big, trained, Navy SEAL boyfriend purchased these things and stocked them in his bathroom?  Alongside the pink towels he bought for me and the arsenal of tampons I left under his sink….what a good guy!) I

t’s not super exciting, but I can say, in all truthfulness, I have only missed FOUR nights of this routine since I was 20 years old, and both because I was forced to sleep somewhere without pre-planning and bringing a bag. Yes, even on my 21st birthday I stumbled around my bathroom at 3 am telling my then-boyfriend that he needed to wash my face and help me because I was NOT going to sleep with makeup on!  (True story)  Catch you all next week when I get back home!!
