MARV + CINDY | VOW RENEWAL AT THE COPPERWYND RESORT

(Photography by Kimberly Jarman: Main & Jennifer: 2nd Photographer)

Cindy and Marv have become “those” type of clients that aren’t “just” clients, they are different and special and more than just a client. When I got into photography I got into it because I love people. I love the friendships and relationships I build with my clients and I cherish them. I remember every wedding and portrait session I’ve ever photographed. When a client calls me and says, you shot my wedding 4 years ago, you probably don’t remember me, I tell them honestly that I do remember them and I can mentally see those pictures in my mind. So, when I get a client that goes over and beyond to show me that i’m not just a “photographer”, but a friend and part of the family, it really makes me happy and feel warm inside.

I photographed the Corsbie family last Christmas for the first time. Their entire family was in town and they hadn’t had family portraits done in years, so they asked me to photograph  their family. We had a wonderful time, and through their session, the numerous emails that went back and forth, the ordering/preview session, I got to really know Cindy and Marv and love them. When they asked me to photograph their 40th Vow renewal I was very excited to do so.

One day, as I was going through the mail, I saw a letter from Cindy and Marv. It was actually their Vow renewal invitation and they personally wrote on it that they would love for my family to join them for the ceremony and for dinner. They asked me to bring my daughter and my husband a long. They then invited us to stay the night at the CopperWynd Resort with them so that we could have a little getaway. I’ve never been asked this before, so I was taken aback and told my husband that we were taking them up on the offer.

The day of the event came and my daughter was so excited to go to a wedding with mommy (she wants to be my assistant already at 4). We showed up early and relaxed as guests, enjoyed the pool, and the views from the resort. At 4:00 we finished getting ready for the event and then Jennifer (my 2nd shooter) and I met up to start the shooting. We photographed Cindy getting ready, the family portraits, details, and then the wonderful Ceremony. It was a beautiful day, especially for June and couldn’t have been more perfect.

At dinner Cindy and Marv asked me to put away the camera and enjoy dinner with them and the family. We did, and had a wonderful night, while Kailee played with all the other kids and we got an “adult” night out!

The next day we were invited to brunch as well and got to sit and get to know Cindy and Marv’s closest friends and family. We truly felt like family.

So this event is special to me, in the sense that this family has become like family to me and I cherish them deeply. Also, Cindy and Marv celebrated 40 years and they are still so in love. I value that and applaud them for that. You two are an amazing example of how it’s done right. Thank you Cindy and Marv.

Cindy looked amazing!

Cindy loves her grandkids and they sure do love her as well. I love these pictures of the girls.

Family Portrait time

I love this image of Marv before the ceremony.

Another favorite of Marv and his grandson.

My beautiful daughter joined us and loved being a guest. She now thinks that everyone should get married.

The ceremony included all of their family and was so beautiful.

Cindy and Marv wanted to make sure that all of the guests got a pictures of themselves. These turned out lovely.

I love my portrait time!

The kids had their own table and loved all the activities.

This was the book that they had ordered from their family session.

The next day I joined the family for brunch and got out and photographed all the kids for a bit. It was fun.

Thank you Cindy and Marv. You two are wonderful people. We are very thankful that you are now in our lives and look forward to many more family sessions in the future.

Last night, when Marv and I viewed your blog together, we were brought to tears remembering our special day and all of God’s blessings. Your photographs capturing the spirit and love of our family are absolutely priceless! Now we’re anxious to decide which ones we want to have framed. That’s the hard part. And, just so people know (ERIN), the kissy pictures are our favorite!

Just one request…less photos of my mom and dad making out at the next session? Only kidding. After 40 years they are entitled to some smooching. Gorgeous photos as always! 🙂
