Point and Shoot Cameras

Ok, I know i’m a photographer and should know all of the best cameras out there… and when it comes to SLR’s I can tell you what to buy and what not to buy… however when it comes to Point and Shoots I have no clue…. they keep changing on me.

I need to buy a new point and shoot camera that takes amazing pictures and I wanted to get everyone’s advice on what they think is the best!!! So please leave comments on which point and shoots you would tell someone to buy!

Also, video cameras… if you know of a good video camera I need one of those as well!!!

Erica - I have a Canon 30D and bought a new point and shoot a couple weeks ago for my husband. We both LOVE it! Canon 870 IS – I did research on it and several pro photgraphers love it so we bought it based mostly on that. Its done a GREAT job for a point and shoot.

~Kim - We just got a Sony handycam digital video camera….I love it!! It’s super small and fits in my camera bag. We opted for one with an interal hard-drive instead of the ones with the mini DVDs. Ours is a 30GB and the manual says it will hold up to 9 hours of video….the mini DVDs will only hold up to 2 hours.

As for a point and shoot, I have had two Sonys and I love them!!! They also do digital video too.

Probably more info than you wanted…sorry about that!

Jessi - You crack me up! I have a Canon SD800. Love it! But I think it’s been upgraded since; we just got my brother a Canon SD850 at Costco.

Good luck!
