July was a wonderful month for me. I went to Hawaii on Vacation, my baby turned 1, and Keri and Jerod had me come out to California to photograph their wedding! LOVE it!!!

Keri and Jerod’s wedding was one that I will never forget. They are such an amazing couple and have such a great story. They met at UCLA 8 years ago. They are both youth pastors for their church so there were tons of youth age kids at the wedding. It really was a fun party.

The great thing for me is that I got to leave the Arizona heat and go to California to photograph this wedding. An added bonus was that the wedding was on the corner of Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica BLVD, right near all the Rodeo Drive shops. I had such a fantastic time photographing everyone.

The wedding party was so much fun and the family was so gracious. I got to know a lot of them and was so taken aback by their friendliness and generosity. I really felt like I was photographing a friends wedding and I LOVED it.

We started out the day at the Intercontinental Hotel on Avenue of the Stars BLVD in Los Angeles. This was an amazing hotel and I was so excited to see that they had rented a suite to get ready in. This is something I really suggest to the girls is to rent a suite where you can all stay the night before and then get ready in it. It gives you a lot of room to put all of your stuff and usually has the best light for pictures.

The girls bought Lotto tickets. I think one of them won $8!!!

Keri’s mom was so cute! I really enjoyed getting to know her. She had a camera in hand taking pictures of the whole thing and she looked like a pro crouching down for the perfect shot!

Keri and Jerod are big Disney fans so Keri’s wedding band had Mickey Mouse… well it wasn’t her “real” wedding band but it is the one that she had for the wedding. They haven’t picked out the real one yet, but this was perfect for their big day.

I was so thankful that Keri and Jerod met before the wedding for pictures. It really allowed us to get some great shots. This was their first look. Jerod was in awe of how amazing Keri looked!

The flowers were beautiful. Party Posies in Torrance did a great job.

Keri is the most creative bride I have ever seen in my life. She is a graphic designer and pretty much made all of her details including these programs. They were jam packed with so much fun stuff, cross word puzzles, trivia, and a ton of other stuff. I was amazed!

She also made all her decorations. In all of the boxes there were door prizes for the guests at the end. Such a great idea. Everything was over the top and very good. Even the cake toppers were cartoon characthers of themselves.

The Ceremony was beautiful and included Keri and Jerod reading letters that they had written to their parents. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the crowd.

And this is probably one of the most special shots of all day. Usually I don’t post the “kissing” picture, but this is a special Kissing picture. Keri and Jerod decided to wait to kiss until their wedding day… so this was their first Kiss. It was a short and sweet Kiss that I had to catch quickly. I even got in trouble by the head lady at the church for interupting the service:(:( ( Really I didn’t. I was very respectful, but there were some crazy rules at this church and I guess I broke one). I had to get it and so glad I did.

We then headed out to do more pictures of them.. this time kissing ones were involved!! We got some great pictures.. these 2 are some of my favorites.

Seth and Emily were married in my hometown this last Saturday, Pinetop, Arizona!!!! They were married at the Pinetop Country Club, and it was an absolutely amazing day. It rained the entire week before so everyone was wondering how the day was going to go, but things worked out! There was rain, but only once we had finished the pictures that we needed and once the outside ceremony was over. I swear i’m the luckiest photographer ever!

There are so many pictures that i’m going to share with you all because it really was a spectacular day. A ton of details and amazing moments.

I also had the wonderful pleasure of having my very good photographer friend, Jennifer Bowen, come along and shoot with me. I have included a few of my favorites that she took below.. i’ll be sure to point them out!

I loved all the Pinecones that they used. It really made for some fun details. Jen got this great shot of Seth’s cufflinks.

I love this moment between Emily and her sister.

More details.. Aren’t these rings gorgeous?

Jen hung out with the guys and nailed a very cool shot of Seth playing golf. Look at the ball in motion!

And I LOVE this shot… I didn’t realize what it was when I first saw the picture and then I saw that the guys were watching YouTube to figure out how to fold a pocket square!! Awesome.

I Love it when Bride and Groom’s see each other before. Jen got an amazing shot of Emily coming out the door and I got this great shot of Seth’s reaction. Timeless!!

One thing I love about Pinetop is that you have green… yes green and colors and it’s not desert! I love this wedding party picture with all the color around! And look at those clouds.. it had just stopped raining so we could get this shot.

Jen got this amazing shot of the little flower girl. She was so precious.

But Umbrellas do make for great shots!

Again, this little girl was so so so cute!

I LOVE this shot. It started to rain just as we finished the girls pictures so Emily and the little flower girl were running back to shelter.

She made everyone smile all day long!

Amazing details of the ceremony. Courtney with All Occasion Florals did an AMAZING job with all the flowers. I totally recomend them and they are local to Pinetop!

I Love the picture to the left because of the Ushers. They were so much fun.

Also the guitarist was AMAZING!! His information is below and I hear he is a valley local and trust me, you want him to sing at your wedding.

When Seth proposed he proposed by putting the ring on a fishing pole, so the little ring bearer walked down the aisle with the rings on a fishing pole. So cute.

The little guy that Emily is hugging is her brother. He was crying at this point and Emily gave him a hug… such a special time… another one that Jen caught.

The wonderful thing about having friends shoot with you is that they get some great “In Action” Shots. Jen got some really good shots of me in action and I wanted to show them off.

I have been in Florida for the last 4 days and am now on my way back to Arizona! Liz and Durann were married on Saturday in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I have known Liz for about 10 years now and I was so excited when she called me up to tell me she was getting married!

This was a crazy wedding for me because my best friend and fellow photographer, Mary Beth Tyson, was in the wedding party. It was crazy taking pictures of her and having her there, but it was so much fun. I also knew 2 of the other girls in the wedding party.. so it was good reconnecting with old friends.

The day started at Liz and Durann’s condo. The girls got ready there and the boys got ready at a really neat Salon called Mankind. I was very lucky to have an amazing photographer, Timco, come along and help me capturing the guys getting ready. I don’t have any of those pictures up yet, but they turned out great!! Thanks Tim:):)

Durann has a little girl and it was fun to see how Liz has taken her in as her own. I love this moment.

Durann loves to read Tom Clancey novels so we thought it would be really neat to take pictures of the rings on the books… I think this turned out really cool!

Ok, cute cute cute little babies all over… this guy was adorable. He wasn’t going to be a ring bearer, but was so cute that he ended up walking down the aisle anyways! Little kids always make me miss my Kailee… this was my first long trip away from her, so it was a little harder than normal.

This is Durann’s daughter and her cousin. Durann and Liz said they are more like sisters than cousins and you could tell they loved each other so much. They were so cute the entire ceremony.

When they came out of the sanctuary the girls hugged Durann and Liz.. this is totally NOT a staged shot… I love it.

And then off to my favorite part of the day, the Bride and Groom portraits! We had a great time!

We were walking through a parking garage when I saw this… Durann wasn’t too excited about sitting up there, but once he saw the picture he LOVED it….hey parking garages are cool!!!

We also did a day after shoot yesterday. I will be blogging those a little later.

Sedona . Gorgeous Bride . Killer Cake . Rain . Family and Friends . Fun Times .

First of all I need to Thank Kimberly Bee for coming along with me on this wedding and 2nd shooting.. she got some amazing shots and I had to include a few of them. I will try to point them out so you can see what a great shooter she is! Thanks Kim:)

I met Christa and Tommy last week also for the first time. I had been talking to Christa for about 4 months, but we decided to do an engagement session last week… (it’s one of the engagement sessions I just posted)… we had a great time and talked a ton about their wedding. I have been looking forward to the wedding because it was in Sedona (one of my favorite places to shoot). They got me even more excited about everything that they had planned.

I showed up Friday night and stayed at the same Resort that the wedding party and family were at, Oak Creek Terrace Resort. I was able to go to the Rehearsal dinner and meet everyone! I loved it because I felt like part of the family and everyone was so nice.

On Saturday morning we woke up very early and started shooting the getting ready section of the day.

Christa and Tommy wanted to see each other ahead of time so we also did all of the portraits before the ceremony.

Kimberly Bee got this amazing moment!

Christa has 2 wonderful kids and we had to get a family picture. I Love this one!

The little guy!

Christa planned this wedding all by herself. She came up with all the decorations and made them all herself as well. The details were AMAZING!

And the CAKE!!!! Look at the Cake!!! Sedona Cake Couture did a phenomenal job with the cake. I have never seen anything like it! Tommy is a fire fighter for the surprise Fire Department and the girls at Sedona Cake Couture created an exact replica of his fire truck!!! AMAZING!

The flowers were amazing as well. Angel Floral in Sedona did a great job!

Now for the crazy part….

The day called for possible rain and Christa was concerned the entire time because the ceremony and reception were all outside, with no place to go if it rained. We all prayed that the rain would stay away… but unfortunately we weren’t that lucky. About 30 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to begin it started to rain… first a little sprinkle and then a downpour.

Christa was amazing, she kept her cool and decided just to go on with everything. They braved the rain and she and her father walked down the aisle with an umbrella. All the guests huddled under whatever they could find to stay dry, and Kimberly Bee (my second shooter) and I did everything we could to protect our gear so that we could still shoot.

Everything did get a little wet… hmmm…. but it all worked out in the end.

After the ceremony everyone was soaked. Christa came up to me and said, “my dress is already trashed, can we go trash it more in the creek?”. This is my kind of bride. We headed out to the creek and Tommy and Christa crossed over to the rock where Tommy proposed to her and we got some really fun sexy pictures.

I think the rain was worth it to get these pictures… whatcha think????

And in the end, it all worked out! Everyone changed into jeans, they moved the party up on the patio, and everyone ate and had a great time…. the kids for sure enjoyed it!

And although this is pretty much blackmail, pictures of Kim and I, I have to show our rain attire. I was covered with bags and panchos to protect all of my gear and we totally ghetto rigged the bags over our cameras. But it worked… everything stayed dry!

Thanks Tommy and Christa… we had a total blast!!!!
