Today’s Favorite Friday is going to be short and simple. This has been a crazy hard week full of shoots, a sick kid, crazy emails, a sick Kim, and a to do list that keeps growing even though I continually check things off….so, as i’m sitting here, Thursday night at 6:00 PM, I just finished a session and was about to leave the studio when I realized I didn’t write about my favorite friday. I am trying soooo hard to not forget to do these because i’m having a really good time with them!

So, all of that being said… here is my favorite Friday item for this week……

For those of you who know me well you know that I love music, but i’m not crazy into what I listen to. I know my moods, but i’m pretty easy going with listening to almost anything. I usually let others be the DJ because I just want to hear good music. I don’t keep up on tabs of what bands are doing, where they are going, who they are dating, and what styles they are wearing. I just don’t have time to do that and it’s never been something i’ve done. I can’t tell you everyone’s name in the band and i’m for sure not a groupie. I have only been to a few concerts in my life because they’ve never been a huge deal to me….. so when I told my husband that if I were to ever go to a concert it would be Lady Antebellum he listened.. and listened good!

About a couple months ago my husband surprised me with 2 tickets to see Lady Antebellum and I was SOOOO happy. I don’t know what it is, but I love listening to them and am a huge fan. I can see my self really enjoying a concert  of theirs and i’m overly overly excited for this! He invited one of my very good friends and her husband (shout out to Jen Thye!!) to come with us as part of the surprise as well, so i’m so excited to be able to go on a date, to a concert that I love, with my husband and 2 great friends of ours. It’s a huge treat that never happens in this house, so i’m ecstatic!

Who know’s maybe this concert will change my desires and i’ll want to go to more concerts… we will see. But for now, i’m just so excited that my husband thought so much about pulling this surprise together, so thank you honey!!

Holiday Mini Sessions are a great way to capture some really fun pictures of your family in a short time for a little less than you would normally spend on a full family session. With these images you can create Holiday Cards, Gift Prints for family and friends, or even albums for family and friends. The possibilities are endless.

We have already filled up most of our schedule this fall so we are only able to have 2 days where we are offering mini sessions: Friday, October 7th and Saturday October 8th. Each session must be paid in full when booked and there are no refunds if you can’t make it.

Additional Information:

The package fee is due at the time of booking. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure everyone is ready. Make sure everyone is your party is dressed and ready to go. We will not be able to go over our scheduled time.

Parents, please make sure your kids are fed and ready to go. Feel free to bring any items that will help kids relax and have fun… bribery with goldfish crackers or other treats is absolutely allowed and encouraged!! Also feel free to bring a special toy that will help them if needed.

Your images will be ready to view 2 weeks after the sessions.

What Holiday Mini Sessions are:

• A great time to capture some priceless pictures of your family.
• A great time to get fun and creative with your pictures. To do something different and fun.
• A short session geared to capture at least one phenomenal picture to use for your Holiday Cards.
• A great way to get some great prints for your walls if you’ve been wanting to fill those empty spaces with fun pictures.

What Holiday Mini Session are NOT:

• A full blown session with multiple outfit changes or locations
• A time to do multiple different sets of family (i.e. Having your extended family come out and do different group settings all in 30 minutes. We won’t have enough time to do something like this, but would love to do this for you in a normal session time.
• A senior session, baby session, or engagement session (All of these sessions take much more time than we can fit in 25 minutes. I encourage you to contact us for more information on these types of sessions!!)

I hope by now you aren’t all sick of all of our posts about the MS Silent Auction, because there are only 2 days left and we have a LONG Way to go!!! My goal is to raise $3000 from the silent auction that will go towards helping find a cure for MS. As i’m talking more and more about MS i’m finding more people who have been affected by this horrible disease. Recently I just learned that one of my brides best friends and also one of our clients have been diagnosed with this disease and it has truly affected their lives. When people first hear that they have MS it seems hopeless, but there is hope and there is support out there! This walk is a way to show people that we support them and also a way to raise money to help them fight!

I would love to hear from all of you if you know of someone who has this disease and how this has affected their lives. Please feel free to comment and share your stories. I would love to share more of them with our readers on Wednesday (our last day of the auction).

We got some great entries and it was so much fun looking through what my clients said were there favorite images!

After a lot of thought we decided that the winner is Jennifer and Nick Loving.

Nick wrote an amazing story of why this image meant the most to him and it made both Melanie (my assistant) and me tear up a little. And the fact that Nick, the groom, wrote this awesome reason made it even a little more cool!

“This is my favorite picture because, aside from family, everyone we love is here.

Next to me is my beautiful wife. It has almost become cliché to use the term soul mate, but she is. She is my happiness and she is my joy. When I walk next to her, she is the comfort of knowing that we don’t have to search this world anymore, we just have to reach out our hands.

My oldest friend is in this picture. We’ve known each other since we were 8 years old. We have taken some divergent paths, but we always seem to bring out the best in each other.

Jennifer accidentally found a best friend who is in this picture. They were each the extra roommate when four girls moved in together and they ended up sharing an experience that still binds them today. She doesn’t see her friend as often as she would like, but I guess the distance that comes with the end of our college years is a burden that we must all overcome.

I met someone in this picture at my college orientation. By a blessed twist of fate, he ended up living just a few doors down from me in our residence hall. We started a fraternity together and to this day, I still call him my brother.

I took a road trip with someone in this picture that wound up ending after we survived a night huddled in a crack-house waiting for day to come, thankful to be alive.

Jennifer’s best childhood friend is here too. They share the stories that only thirteen girls can relate to. Then one day, these girls become moms and I think maybe they will develop into some kind of mom super team one day. She was actually my best friend for a good amount of high school, as well. She tells a story about the night I showed up at her house with a quart of chocolate ice cream because she had a fight with her boyfriend. That boy became her husband and he was here as well. He helped induct me into the “spirit-crew”, a masked band of secretive crazy cheerleaders that brought some real excitement to the doldrums of 7th period, every Friday, rain or shine.

Our sisters are in this picture. Family is the tie that binds, they always say, and when older generations leave us, siblings become our link to family Christmas’ and summer vacations, and they can fill in the forgotten details about the story that you wish you could hear your grandfather tell just one more time.

These people are not just our friends, they are our memories.”
