Zumba | A few of my favorite things

 

About 6 months ago I started hearing the buzz about Zumba. I know it’s been out for quite some time, but it was about 6 months ago that everyone I knew was talking about their love for Zumba. Now, i’m not a dancer… yes, I like to think I am sometimes, but when I catch myself in the mirror I realize quickly that i’m not. However, my friends were telling me how much fun it was, how silly but amazing they felt, and the kicker… how many calories they were burning in one class. I was intrigued.

In July I decided I wanted a healthier me. I wanted to loose the weight that has slowly but surely attached itself to me every year since I’ve  been married and also the weight of my wonderful and amazing daughter. It just never seems to leave me. I wanted to find time to exercise, but do something that I enjoy and not the mundane running on a treadmill. So, I decided to try a zumba class with my sister. I LOVED it! I checked it out at my gym and found some amazing Zumba instructors and some not so amazing instructors, but overall I was hooked.

Since July i’ve lost 15 pounds, a combination of working out & eating healthy. The working out has been a combination of running, volleyball, walking, & Zumba. While I don’t always have time for an hour Zumba class, I try to go to as many as possible and always leave smiling and feeling healthy.

So, for today’s favorite Friday I thought I would just share…. you should try it if you haven’t, it is pretty awesome if you ask me!!

kimberlyjarman - Jessi! HA!! I’ve wondered if i’ll be able to do it if I get pregnant again. There is quite a bit of movement! LOL!

I did Zumba once. Maybe not a genius idea to do it post-pregnancy. lol
