Laurie + Dave | Phoenix Engagement Photographer

I get so many clients who walk into my studio and tell me they are really nervous about getting pictures done and that they aren’t photographic. Laurie (I hope she doesn’t kill me) was one of those brides. I assured her that she was GORGEOUS and her pictures would be amazing. Last week, after a few reschedules because of weather (who knew it would rain every Wednesday for a month), we were able to do Laurie and Dave’s engagement pictures. We had so much fun and through the viewfinder I knew that they were doing a great job interacting with each other and looking very cute. When I got home and started to go through the pictures, my draw dropped. Laurie is GORGEOUS and is extremely photographic and Dave did pretty dang good himself. These are seriously some of my favorite engagement pictures and I adore them!

People often wonder why I do an engagement session. The reason is two fold. It’s done so that I can get to know you as a couple, how you interact together, your chemistry, how you photograph. It’s also done so that my couples can get used to having a camera in their face and also see my style of photography. I always warn my couples that the first 5-10 minutes will be awkward, who isn’t a little shy in front of a camera? However, once we get rolling and moving it gets a lot more fun and my couples always tell me they had a really good time. It’s two fold.. it helps me get used to my couples and helps my couples get used to me. I think it’s really important to ensure that your wedding day pictures are great!

In the case of Laurie and Dave, I think and hope that Laurie will see how BEAUTIFUL she is and if she looks this good for her engagement pictures she’s going to be smokin hot for her wedding! Gosh I love my job!!

That being said, please enjoy the amazing images from Laurie and Dave’s engagement session!

I also love for my couples to bring a part of themselves into the pictures. Laurie is a Phoenix Suns Season Ticket Holder and Dave is a Cardinals Season Ticket Holder, so of course they had to come decked out in their favorite teams clothing and gear! I LOVE and adore these pictures.

Laurie also bought a cute little red dress for the shoot. I think it is great to bring a few different changes because it really allows us to get a lot of different looks. I thought these were great!

I’m so excited for Dave and Laurie’s wedding at the Phoenix Art Museum. The amazing Aleasha Shelton with A Day To Cherish weddings will be coordinating the entire thing and because of that it’s going to be even more phenomenal!!
