Joseph and Serina were married in the last weekend in March at the breathtakingly beautiful and intimate Sassi, in Scottsdale. Serina and Joe met while she was visiting California for her birthday. She impressed Joe so much that he cancelled all of the plans he had for that night and spent the evening with her. Even though she had to leave the next morning, they stayed in contact and visited each other when they could. Not too long after that, its was apparent that this volleyball-loving couple were perfect for each other! The entire day was relaxed and chill – Serina is just so naturally beautiful that it took her very little time to get ready for the big day! Joe and his guys got ready at the wine cellar at Sassi, while all singing along to whatever country song was playing on Pandora and talking about the crazy Arizona desert (which they were definitely NOT familiar with!). Joseph and Serina chose not to see each before the ceremony, but rather to have a ‘first touch’. we took advantage of Sassi’s famous doors and positioned them on either side of it. After grasping each others hands, Joe said a prayer. It was a beautiful way to start out the day 🙂 Then it was time to pronounce them man and wife! Serina was absolutely beaming as her father led her down the aisle to her future husband! Their ceremony was performed beautifully by Mike Kennedy. After being pronounced man and wife. We took advantage of the beautiful setting sun and captured their portraits around the scenic grounds of Sassi. The guests were then let into their elegantly-styled purple ballroom with a custom cake-topper of the couple playing playing volleyball. After a delicious dinner (Sassi never disappoints on the food!) and touching speeches, Serina’s parents had the best surprise for everyone! Serina’s Dad told everyone that they should all ‘make a memory’ and go outside for a group picture. After getting everyone settled and Joe & Serina in a prime spot, fireworks shot off, illuminating the sky against the Arizona desert. Everyone gave an involuntary ‘ooohhh!’ and ‘ahhhhhh!’. It just made the night that much more memorable, and the love between Serina, Joe, and their families was apparent. They spent the rest of the night dancing to the musical stylings of Eric with Got You Covered!
